King Harley
Shovelheads, Panheads, drive-in restaurants, and rock and roll
Drag racin’ on Main St. Old folks said we were out of control
Our loud pipes screaming when we pulled out all of the stops
Then, you could still shut off the lights and run from the cops
Hanging around the old Harley shop hearing many a Biker tale
Looking back, it’s a wonder all of us didn’t end up in the jail
Bikers weren’t businessmen, lawyers, and movie stars back then
Social outcasts ridin’ to the local tavern together for a beer or ten
Nortons, B.S.A’s, and Triumphs were Harleys’ only competition
Honda Dreams, Something like a Gold Wing was not even a vision
Maybe I’m just stubborn “Old School”. Harleys will forever rule
I miss those days of oil leaks and kick starters that made us look cool
Somewhere through the years things seemed to change to some degree
But, I’m still ridin’ those Harleys and they still make my mind feel free
Harley, an American tradition, has always been a big part of my life
Number one priority for sure. If ya don’t believe me, ask my ex wife
Well, those good old days of greasy Bikers have now came and gone
I’ll not give up, even on a Harley with a radiator; I’ll still be ridin’ on
In the year seventy seven the king of rock and roll died and left this place
He may be gone but, the King of Motorcycles, no one will ever replace
