Spirit Of The Road
Mysteriously you have made your presence known to me
You have been my faithful companion that no one can see
Leading me through the curves of life and over the next hill
You have taught me to appreciate doing things at my will
In the worst of circumstances you have successfully rescued me
Allowed me to twist the wick and set confusing thoughts free
I have pounded the asphalt until positive things are left in my head
With wind against my face you erase from my life things I dread
We have traveled to little known places comprehending God’s creation
Observing farms, factories, rich people and poor all free in this great nation
You have humbled me while making me feel like I am a king in my own space
I have gained the power to confront worries and destroy them without a trace
Let me and my Brothers continue on riding through as we have done in the past
May we still all watch out for one another for as long as
this life might last
As for the spirit of the road, I am thankful that you have permeated my skull
Because of you many Brothers will keep standing while Mr. Joe Citizen may fall
